Dr. Tanya Coty joined the VCA 4 Paws family in April 2024.
Dr. Coty grew up on the east coast near Philadelphia. Always an avid lover of animals, her home was filled with various pets—cats, dogs, hamsters, fish, axolotl, rabbits, cockatiels, and more. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia while working part time as a veterinary assistant at a cat only hospital.
While in veterinary school, Dr. Coty kept busy working part time at the local humane society and volunteering with the University of Illinois' Wildlife Clinic. She also maintained leadership roles in the school's Student Chapter of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and Non-Traditional Species Club. After graduating with her veterinary degree, Dr. Coty sought out the fair weather of San Diego to permanently settle into. Dr. Coty spent years working within the VCA family but recently decided to settle into a long term clinic, and we are so excited to have her!
In her free time, Dr. Coty enjoys running and hiking in addition to reading, board games with friends, and traveling. She has two cats (Annie and Meeshka) and a 30 pound mutt (Finn) to keep her company.
