Dr. Whitney Pagel is originally from Wharton, TX. She got her start in veterinary medicine there during her school days, attending career days at local clinics, volunteering and eventually attaining an after-school job as a veterinary technician. When she headed off to college at Texas A&M University, she continued working part-time as a vet tech and volunteering at the Brazos Animal Shelter, and in 2004 she received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and Animal Science. Four years later, she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.

In the summer of 2008, Dr. Pagel moved to Austin and has been practicing veterinary medicine in this area ever since. In spring of 2011 she joined the team at VCA Anderson Mill Animal Hospital. Dr. Pagel is member of the Capital Area American Veterinary Association and her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, pain management, integrative therapy and feline medicine.

In her spare time Dr. Pagel enjoys sharing her surgical skills with the non-profit spay/neuter community of the greater Central Texas region. Aside from her passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Pagel enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, physical fitness, music, baking, and being with family and friends. Dr. Pagel and her husband Jon have a son, Finn, who was born 1/14/17. They also have three furry children: An Australian shepherd named Harvey and two orange tabbies named Fergie and Flanders.
