Staff Veterinarian
DVM
Dr. Eytalis grew up in Bloomington, IL, which is about 2.5 hours South of Chicago. She was drawn to animals as a young girl and had the goal of becoming a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She always dreamed of living near the mountains and attending veterinary school in Colorado. For undergrad, she attended the University of Iowa on an athletic scholarship in swimming (GO HAWKS!). Following that she excitedly ventured to Colorado State University where she received her Masters of Science in Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology. Throughout her undergrad and masters, she was a veterinary assistant at an array of general practices and ER/specialty hospitals, working with both large and small animals. Dr. Eytalis was proud to attend Colorado State University for a second time, this time receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Her passion during veterinary school was mixed animal medicine, but then fell in love with surgery during her 4th year. Following veterinary school, Dr. Eytalis furthered her education and experience by completing a Small Animal Rotating Internship at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She is interested in many aspects of veterinary medicine, which is why she is excited to work at VCA Aspenwood Animal Hospital, but her favorite areas include surgery and virology/public health.
She has lived in Colorado with her husband, Korey, for the last 5 years. They share their home with 3 kitten mittens, Shyla, Namir, and Ollie, and their silly adopted pup, Murphy. On her time off she enjoys working out, camping, hiking, skiing, trying new restaurants and watching Netflix.
