Sheila Perry
Hospital Manager
Sheila Perry was born in Los Gatos and grew up in Santa Cruz. She started out in the veterinary industry as a receptionist as a teenager. Sheila has worked in veterinary hospitals for 20+ years, including twelve years at a local specialty hospital as a surgical assistant. While at this specialty hospital, she received a STAR award for compassion. This award is incredibly special to her because it was awarded on positive feedback collectively received from clients and her peers. Sheila became the Hospital Manager of VCA Bascom Animal Hospital in January 2020.

Sheila has a dog named Walter, a Corgi that she rescued. Sheila thinks Corgis are the best breed ever and is usually found wearing silly Corgi socks. Sheila's cat is a tripod, a cat with only three legs, named Honey Boo Boo Kitty Child. Sheila has a very special place in her heart for tripods and will say "tripod's rule!" at the sight of them.

When Sheila is not working, she enjoys being with her boyfriend, family and friends - while hiking, taking beach walks or runs. Sheila likes to go on mini vacations to visit her property up north in Willits and loves any/all real life medical shows. If she's not out with her family and friends, you can bet she is doing something involving a dog.
The most rewarding part of Sheila's job is coaching someone to accomplish tasks that they did not believe that they could. She feels that positive reinforcement can change someone's entire attitude about a difficult situation. She feels that an environment of accountability and support is very important for herself and her team. Becoming a hospital manager was a dream that Sheila had from her first day as a receptionist many years ago.
