Janet is a Client Service Representative at VCA. She has a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. In 1976, she stumbled into the animal field beginning at the Denver Dumb Friends League and has worked in many dimensions of animal welfare ever since. Starting out part time, she joined VCA in 2005. She adores her 2 cats and goldfish. Louise is a beautiful Somali mix and Wicket is a robust, handsome, domestic long hair kitty. Jaws is a VCA rescued gold fish that is still swimming strong after 6 years - when she took him home, he was about 1 1/2" and he is now about 4".. who knew!? Jan loves her weekly fold and scrabble games. She dabbles in magic, plays piano, likes to explore off the beaten path, and read. She volunteers with an equine therapy program run by a wonderful VCA client. She appreciates the team effort at VCA. Working with animals is a beautiful combination of tenderness, joy and sometimes sadness. Working with the people offers her an opportunity to provide information and assistance with their animal companions as well as comfort during the hard times. As she eases into retirement, she is grateful to have had such a rich experience in a rewarding field with so many compassionate people.
