Dr. Ramos is an east bay native, completing her undergraduate degree from CSU East Bay and then earning her DVM degree from the University of California, Davis in 2001. She then joined VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center and completed a one-year internship with rotations in internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, ophthalmology and emergency medicine. She then completed an 18-month surgical internship which included training in soft tissue surgery, emergency surgical procedures, wound management, orthopedics and neurosurgery. She stayed on as a staff surgeon for another 3 years working extensively with boarded surgeons until moving back to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2007.
Dr. Ramos has a special interest in surgery including fracture management and managing the cruciate deficient stifle. She is certified in the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) procedure and has completed training in Orthopedic Planning at The Ohio State University and External Skeletal Fixation at Iowa State University. (She continually strives to increase her skills with yearly hands on training at different events across the country)
