Hilary graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1988 and has spent the majority of her veterinary career at Bayview Animal Hospital first as an associate veterinarian and then as a partner and Director from 2001 to 2011. After taking some time for family and volunteerism, Hilary is happy to back in clinical practice. She enjoys the many challenges of veterinary medicine and loves the connections that working with pets, their families, and a great team, bring to her life. She values the important role that veterinary medicine plays in enriching and protecting the bond we share with our pets.
“Looking after a pet through all the stages of their life, in health and in illness, is not simply a job to the Bayview team, we are invested emotionally in our work”.
Outside of work Hilary volunteers with Community Veterinary Outreach, providing pro bono veterinary care for the pets of Ottawa’s homeless and vulnerably housed and with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA sets the standard for excellence in veterinary medicine in North America). She enjoys spending time with her family, including a very quirky Brussels Griffon named “Parker” and she can often be found running in the great outdoors.
