Dr. Currigan graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from St. Mary’s College/Notre Dame. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Currigan has practiced her entire cat-exclusive veterinary career in Chicago. She relocated to the Chicago area after veterinary school to practice at one of the few cat-exclusive veterinary practices in the country at the time.
Dr. Currigan serves on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), where she was its President in 2016. She is also an active member of the AAFP's Cat Friendly Practice Committee. Dr. Currigan serves on the Tree House Humane Society Board of Directors, and is currently its Board Chair. She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association and the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association.
