Dr. Simpson was born in Philadelphia and raised in rural Northeastern Pennsylvania. After graduating from Pennsylvania State University she returned to Philadelphia to attend veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated in 2005. Dr. Simpson joined the team at VCA Cat Hospital of Philadelphia in July 2005 and has been here ever since. Dr. Simpson and her partner live in Northern Liberties with their three cats—Georgia, Hugo, and Maeby. In her free time she enjoys traveling, rooftop gardening, and sampling craft beer from local breweries. 

When asked why she does what she does Dr. Simpson said "I chose to be a feline veterinarian because of the relationships I'm able to form with my patients and their families. Whether it's year after year or just one visit I love seeing the joy that cats bring to their families and knowing that I can be a part of that by promoting a long, healthy life for the cats."
