Where were you born and raised?
I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT, and move to Scottsdale in 2008.
When did you become interested in veterinary medicine?
When I was little and was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my immediate response was "a pet vet"! After working as a nutrition counselor for 5 years, I needed a change that I was passionate about. I enrolled in vet tech school and began to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
What do you like about this profession?
The best part of my job is watching the way clients interact with their pets. It's hard to imagine other people loving their dog or cat more than I love my dog, but when I see the bond between people and their pets, it makes my job worth every minute. Being able to do something meaningful every day is priceless.
Do you have hobbies?
When I'm not pet-sitting, I enjoy trying new restaurants with my boyfriend and hanging out with friends. I am somewhat of a homebody, so cuddling up on the couch with my dog and watching a good movie is my favorite place to be.
