Dr. Garretson grew up in Colorado and wanted to be a veterinarian from a young age. She began working at a veterinary clinic in high school as a kennel technician and worked her way up to veterinary assistant. She earned her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Colorado Sate University in 2009, while working in a veterinary immunology research laboratory. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2014 in addition to becoming certified in veterinary medical acupuncture. She obtained her Fear Free certification in 2017 to help improve the veterinary experience for pets and people. Her clinical focus is dogs and cats and she enjoys preventive medicine, acupuncture, dentistry, surgery and internal medicine.
Outside of practice, Dr. Garretson enjoys hiking, reading, brewing beer, home improvement/landscaping projects and spending time with her husband and pets (three dogs and two cats).
