Emily was born and raised in Alaska and grew up with cats, dogs, chickens, and horses. With aspirations of becoming a Veterinarian and supporting her horse habit, she began her career in veterinary medicine at 14 years old at a local vet clinic. After studying at UAA, she decided veterinary nursing was her true path and in 2009, she moved to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Emily graduated with her AAS in veterinary technology in 2011 from Colorado Mountain College and worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician for 9 years in Glenwood Springs, Colorado where she served as an adjunct professor in veterinary technology at her Alma Matter and worked at a local mixed-animal hospital. She became lead technician in 2017 and graduated with her BAS in Leadership and Management in 2018. She and her family returned to The Mat Su valley in August of 2020 and are happy to be in Alaska again! Emily is passionate about Fear Free care of patients, high quality medicine and deeply enjoys caring for her feline friends. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her family and snuggling with her two kitties.
