Dr. Connelly is originally from Albany, NY, she graduated from Clark University in 2005. She knew from a young age she was destined to work with animals in some capacity. She got her first job in veterinary medicine as a technician here at Freehold Animal Hospital in 2006 then moved on to the emergency room at Garden State Veterinary Specialists while she was completing her pre-vet coursework at Rutgers University. Dr. Connelly graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 then began a career in Emergency Medicine. After two years, she decided that General Practice was where she needed to be.
She currently lives in Hazlet with her husband and six pets. She has four cats; Lola has the honor of being her first furbaby, and Willow was found on Rutgers campus. Her youngest cats, Munchie, a Kittitian kitten (from St. Kitts, West Indies), was one of about 90 cats she fostered during her time in vet school, and Dark Helmet was found blind and wandering alone was brought into GSVS by animal control. Her dogs, Pixel and Widget, are her favorite hiking and swimming buddies, along with Munchie who joins the adventures on occasion.
