Dr. Nigel Skinner purchased Kew Beach Veterinary Hospital in July of 2007. Prior to that, he had been an associate at two other GTA clinics, Lawrence Veterinary Clinic and Warden Animal Hospital. Originally from New Zealand, Nigel arrived in Canada in 1992. Nigel completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto and is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario. Nigel’s professional interests include laparoscopy and endoscopy (minimally invasive surgery), pediatrics, and anesthesia and pain management.

Nigel lives in Toronto’s Beach community with his wife Tracy, their two sons Weston, and Beckett, their two cats, sisters Waffles and Clementine, Storm, a Bearded Collie rescue from Toronto Animal Services, and their latest addition, Bruno, a Yorkie-Chihuahua mix rescue.

Away from work, Nigel enjoys carpentry, running and cycling, is a mediocre hockey goalie and an even worse golfer. Nigel and his family are often out and about taking full advantage of all of the activities this great community has to offer.
