Dr Kraft shared his love for animals at an early age, caring for both farm and companion animals growing up on his family’s hobby farm.

After graduating in the same class as Dr Hunter to receive his degree in veterinary medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College, Dr Kraft went on to practice as an associate veterinarian in Stirling, Ontario. Thereafter, he practiced in downtown Toronto at a small animal general practice, and in a specialty referral and emergency veterinary practice. In 2005, Dr Kraft partnered in the ownership of Kortright Animal Hospital with Dr Hunter.

Providing compassionate veterinary care has always been a passion for Dr Kraft. Throughout much of his career he has continued to build on his knowledge base in areas of pet nutrition, cancer therapy, helping seniors age gracefully, hospice care for the terminally ill and multi-modal approaches to pain management. As well as an interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, Dr Kraft is one of very few veterinarians in Ontario who is certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture.

Outside of the veterinary hospital Dr Kraft finds pleasure in the outdoors, including working around his country home, camping, fitness training and cycling. Dr Kraft enjoys his life with 4 wonderful pets and his wife Tammy. Sammi, their cocker spaniel enjoys sniffing for chipmunks on her long walks, and their 2 cats are forever competing for a warm lap to curl up on. Luke is Dr Kraft's newest addition, and is fitting in well with the rest of the gang. They are all such a joy to be greeted after a long day.
