Dr. Jan Cao graduated quite eventfully from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph amidst a global pandemic in 2020 and is excited to join the team at VCA Lakeshore! Prior to obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, Dr. Jan completed a Bachelor of Science with honours at the University of Guelph, majoring in Animal Biology and minoring in Nutrition and Nutraceuticals. Dr. Jan enjoys seeing the positive impact that companion animals can have on the lives of their two-legged family members, and is dedicated to helping improve their lives in every aspect.

Dr. Jan is particularly interested in small animal surgery, ophthalmology, and nutrition. Dr. Jan is Fear Free certified, and is passionate about delivering a positive veterinary experience to her patients. When not at the clinic, Dr. Jan can either be found indulging in new culinary wonders while traversing through exotic Asian countries, or curled up on her sofa with a good book, a hot cup of tea, and her bundle of joy Nacho (the cat).
