Dr. Katharine Chan joined VCA Magnolia Animal Hospital as medical director in March 2017. Dr. Chan is originally from San Diego but earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania. She then returned to California and graduated with honors from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She moved to Seattle in 2010 after completing a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency at a referral practice in San Diego. Before joining the team at Magnolia, Dr. Chan worked as an associate veterinarian in general practice in the Seattle area. Her professional interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine, and ophthalmology.
Dr. Chan shares a home in Seattle with her husband, young daughter, their dog (Fillmore), and two cats (Jack and Ginny). When she’s not working, she enjoys taking her daughter to the zoo, spending time with friends, discovering neighborhood food/drink offerings, and catching up on TV with her cats curled up on her lap.
