Dr. Emily Shelton grew up in Sacramento. She received her undergraduate degree in ecology, evolution and organismal biology from Vanderbilt University, then continued on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis. Dr. Shelton then completed a small animal rotating internship at VCA Loomis Basin.

Her favorite part of the job is that she gets to help animals, and every day is a little bit different.

Outside of work, Dr. Shelton enjoys spending time with her animals, weekend trips to Tahoe, hiking and reading.
