Dr. Lee-Salerno completed her BS in Biology at Hofstra University in 2002 followed by an AAS in Veterinary Technology from Suffolk Community College then practiced as a Licensed Veterinary Technician for 10 years before attending Saint George's University where she also took Master's level classes in Wildlife Conservation Medicine. She spent three months in Uganda working with buffalo, zebras, lions and other indigenous species monitoring herd health and educating local people of the importance of these animals. 

After graduating from veterinary school Dr. Lee spent 13 months rotating in a small animal medicine and surgical internship at a local 24 hour emergency and specialty hospital. She then transitioned to general practice where she loves watching her patients grow from new pets in the house to beloved family members. Since 2015 she took on the role of medical director and has worked passionately to uphold the quality of medical care our patients deserve.  Over the last few years Dr. Lee has felt her traditional veterinary education was not enough to offer her patients the care she was looking for and starting the process of obtaining specialized training in traditional Chinese medicine, specifically acupuncture.  She feels an integrated approach (both eastern and western medicine) gives her patients more treatment options and the optimal results.  For the last 2 years she has been completing certification in Small Animal Acupuncture through the Chi institute in Florida under the guidance of Dr. Huisheng Xie, a world renowned practitioner.    

In her spare time she likes to be outside with her family enjoying the many activities Long Island has to offer.  Dr. Lee lives locally and you might see her around town with her husband and three beautiful children.   She also has two rescue dogs, a seizure beagle named missy and a 3-legged Sheppard  mix named Benny.
