Lauren has been working as a certified veterinary technician in the emergency department at VCA Old Marple Animal Hospital since 2019. Having had a strong interest in animal science, Lauren first received her B.A. in Biology from Widener University in 2013. Shortly after, she received her associates in veterinary technology through the Penn Foster program, then obtained her certification. Growing up, Lauren has always had dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, and a variety of other pets. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family which includes her fiancée, 2 daughters, and her fur children which currently include a Yorkshire terrier named Bleu, and a shepherd mix named Luna.
"I have always loved working with animals and enjoying caring for them for as long as I can remember. I knew that I wanted to work in the veterinary medicine ever since caring for my beloved cat, Bootsie, when I was younger. I wanted to understand his disease process and provide the best care possible for him, so once he passed away from heart disease, I decided I wanted to be a veterinary technician. Helping people understand and care for sick animals is very rewarding to me and feels like I am giving back a good service to the community."
