My love for animals was obvious at a young age. It all started when I hand raised a litter of abandoned rabbits at the age of eight. I then moved onto the daily care of over 100 parrots after school. After graduating from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a bachelor's degree in biology and captive wildlife, I moved to the veterinary field in June 2009 by working at VCA Pahle.
When I started working in boarding and day camp, I was exposed to veterinary medicine when I needed to give medications to the pets under my care. I soon became a veterinary assistant in 2010. I love the high pace atmosphere of working with animals that need my help right now and the loving moments of introducing a young puppy to the smells of the clinic and showing them they can have fun here.
In 2011, I continued my passion of working with animals by becoming a zookeeper at the Milwaukee County Zoo. I have worked with a wide range of species from hoofstock to fish to reptiles. Even though I am working full-time at the zoo, I still love working part-time with all of my amazing coworkers and pets at VCA Pahle. I am also a proud mom of a therapy certified pit bull and an African spurred tortoise who will outlive me.
