Melinda Spaar Weiss
Medical Director
Dr. Melinda Spaar recently joined the VCA Peachtree Animal Hospital family as Medical Director in September 2017. She has always been a Maryland resident, moving from Prince George's, to Anne Arundel, and now to Frederick County.  Dr. Spaar graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Science in 2003 and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2008 at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia.

For the last 10 years, Dr. Spaar has been in general small animal practice with special interests in nutrition, preventive medicine, and  internal medicine. She believes strongly in the human-animal bond and feels that preventive medicine and early disease detection can prolong the amount of time her clients can spend with their beloved pets.

When not at VCA Peachtree Hospital, Dr. Spaar enjoys being her son's chauffer to sports events, snuggling her senior Golden Retriever, and joking around with her husband.

Dr. Spaar is a current member of the Montgomery County Veterinary Medical Association, Maryland Veterinary Medical Association, and American Veterinary Medical Association.
