Medical Director
DVM
Dr. Ryan Krysl received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University and now calls Denver home. A Nebraska native, Dr. Krysl grew up idolizing the plethora of animals at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and knew from a young age he wanted to be a veterinarian so that he could work with animals every day. After graduating from the University of South Dakota, where he studied animal diversity and evolution, Dr. Krysl had internships at the Omaha zoo and a wildlife rehab center in Belize. He then continued his education at the University of Nebraska where he studied aquatic toxicology and received his Master's degree in biology before pursing his veterinary career.
Dr. Krysl is passionate about the human-animal bond and considers general practice medicine a vocation rather than a career. His favorite part of being a veterinarian is the connections he gets to form with coworkers, families and most of all, our beloved animal companions. He looks forward to the lessons he learns from every patient he works worth so that he can be the best doctor he can be. His special interests include preventative medicine and expanding his repertoire of surgical skills. He also loves taking care of sick patients and giving each animal the best quality of life possible.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Ryan loves all the hiking and camping that Colorado has to offer. He is a former college swimmer and has continues to compete in open water swimming events, triathlons, and marathons. He loves to travel, play video games, and watch sports. He is an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He spends his free time with his husband Paul and their animal family. They have two corgis, Banjo and Mowgli; one cat, Chester; and two turtles, Glitter and Lumber (who he named when he was nine years old).
