Linda Kaplan
Medical Director DVM
Dr. Linda Kaplan grew up in Oyama and graduated from George Elliot Secondary School in 1979. She was the beneficiary of scholarships and bursaries put out by the Lake Country community (Thank You!), province of B.C. and the University of Victoria. She studied for a year at each of the University of Victoria and the University of Saskatchewan to obtain her pre-veterinary prerequisite credits. In 1981 she was accepted into the Western College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1985.

That summer she came home to start a small mixed animal practice out of her parents’ home in Oyama. It evolved quickly into Jade Bay Veterinary Services, and in August 1986 she was joined by Dr. Eliot Kaplan. Together they built the first phase of Tri Lake Animal Hospital in 1992.

Dr. Linda Kaplan has over 35 years of experience with dog and cat medicine and surgery, with a healthy dose of exotics. She’s been a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians since 1991, and is a founding member of both the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. Also, in 1993 she bought her first ultrasound machine and has been improving her skills with this modality ever since.
