Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Baldassari went to vet school in Texas at Texas A&M University, graduating in 2002. From there she went on to an Emergency, Critical Care, and Surgery internship at the Animal Emergency Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with the founder of the Emergency and Critical Care veterinary specialty, Dr. Rebecca Kirby. Her first job after her internship was an Emergency and Critical Care staff veterinarian at Southpaws Veterinary Specialty Center. After four years of emergency and critical care practice, Dr. Baldassari switched to general practice.
Meanwhile, she raised two children and became interested in helping children with disabilities/severe disabilities, serving on executive committees and the board of local special education advocacy and advisory agencies. She has two tiny dogs and a cat, and loves spending time with family and pets, especially out on the water with them in kayaks or on paddleboards.
Her medical interests include behavior concerns, internal medicine, cardiology, and wellness/preventative care measures—which she will always tell you includes good dental care, nutrition, and weight management!
