Associate Veterinarian
DVM
Dr. Ashley Cottingham was raised in sunny Orlando, FL. Growing up in this hotbed of international tourism taught her to value other cultures and prompted her to seek out experiences that would expose her to more of the world's rich diversity. Though initially interested in pursuing a career in the Humanities, a serendipitous encounter with a stray dog sparked what would become her lifelong commitment to improving the health and well-being of animals.
Dr. Cottingham earned her BSc from the University of Florida in 2016, then went on to graduate magna cum laude from UF College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. While in vet school, she discovered her love for Oncology, Behavior, and End-of-Life Care. She joined the VCA Maple Shade family when she experienced the team's commitment to practicing high quality medicine and providing patients with a Fear-Free experience. Her most rewarding days are ones in which she can support the human-animal bond, improve a pet's quality of life, and help owners learn more about their furry loved ones' health needs.
When she is not wearing her white coat, Dr. Cottingham spends her time playing D&D, exploring Southern New Jersey with her partner, and trying in vain to keep their dog and two cats from getting into too much mischief.
