Kristan was born and raised in Maryland and attended York Technical Institute earning an associate's degree in business management and administration in 2005. She and her family decided to move to Crawfordville for the small-town environment, nature and warmer weather. Kristan moved to Crawfordville in 2014 with her husband and son. They currently own four dogs, three cats and a bearded dragon that they love very much.

Kristan wanted to work in this field because she has always had a passion for animals and helping others. She previously worked in restaurants, retail and hospitality and knew she wanted to continue working with people, but also animals. From a child to an adult, Kristan has always had pets in her life that included dogs, cats, rodents, geese, ducks, chickens and reptiles. In 2014 her journey began and she knew she found her purpose in being able to help both pets and people.
