Michael Johanson was born in Oslo, Norway, and moved to Toronto, Ontario at a young age. He has always been surrounded by animals, growing up with 3 cats, Kisja, Calma, and Stella. The decision to pursue a career in veterinary medicine was decided very early on, partially due to his love of animals and also due to his desire to learn why our best friends become sick, and what we can do to help them.
Michael graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario in 2014. He wrote the VTNE exam in August of 2014, and thereafter became a Registered Veterinary Technician.
He has been with Willowdale Animal Hospital for nearly a decade, and through that time has developed a passion for emergency and critical care veterinary medicine, as well as preventative care.
Michael’s favourite pastimes include exploring nature, watching films, and traveling. He has two lovely ladies at home - Lala, a 15 year old Burmese cat, and Shakira - a boisterous 2 year old guinea pig.
