Dr. Emily Stary is a Portland native who graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. After graduation she pursued acupuncture training to learn additional techniques to help her animal patients feel their best. She became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in 2014 through Colorado State University. She began her Veterinary career working in Northern California where she developed a special interest in alternative therapies, acupuncture, internal and preventative medicine. In 2015 she moved back to her hometown of Portland where she is able to spend time enjoying the outdoors while working in a profession she loves. She lives in Southeast Portland which enables her to bike commute daily. Dr. Stary is thrilled to be at Woodstock Animal Hospital where she is able to offer acupuncture to all her patients in need. Acupuncture is a wonderful additional therapy for arthritis, intervertebral disk disease, hip dysplasia, geriatric medicine, allergies, and many other conditions. Dr. Stary enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine; for her, working with patients and their human caregivers is full of rewards. She feels she could not have chosen a better career.
