Sometimes we are unable to determine from a physical examination what may be troubling your pet. This can be frustrating to you and uncomfortable for your pet. When this happens, we use state-of-the-art Digital Radiology to help diagnose many pet illnesses and injuries. X-rays are capable of detecting arthritis, fractures, bony tumors and other forms of cancer, heart enlargement and congestive heart failure, bladder and kidney stones, stomach or intestinal foreign bodies, pneumonia and other lung diseases and much more.
The advantages of digital x-rays include a shorter time to take the x-ray, lack of chemicals needed to process an x-ray, and less radiation exposure to your pet and our veterinary staff. These x-rays can also be digitally enhanced for the best visualization of a problem. Digital x-rays can easily be copied to a disk, magnified, or sent to a specialist for evaluation.
X-rays are part of a diagnostic work-up if your pet is having a problem or as part of a general wellness examination in an older pet to detect potential problems early. Ask our staff or veterinarians if you have questions about our Radiology Services.
