Our Story

At VCA Airline Animal Hospital, we've helped pets live long, healthy and happy lives since 1953. We work hard to deliver the best medical care for your pets, and the best experience for you, the owner.

Located in Metairie and serving the Metairie, River Ridge, Harahan and Jefferson communities, our veterinarians, technicians and other pet-friendly support staff are trained to the highest standards. Their thorough knowledge of the latest procedures and medicines ensures that our patients receive the best in preventive and healing care.

Hometown Care at VCA Airline Animal Hospital

VCA Airline Animal Hospital is conveniently located in Metairie on Airline Drive (70001), at the corner of Carnation near Transcontinental, just minutes from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, Elmwood Industrial Park, and the Saint’s Training Facility. Our friendly, knowledgeable, caring staff have been serving the companion animal community of Metairie, River Ridge, Elmwood, Harahan, Kenner, and Jefferson since 1953.

In addition to providing full service medical and surgical services, our state-of-the-art, AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accredited facility provides complete wellness care for all of your pet’s life stages from birth through the senior years, including the option of joining our CareClub. CareClub is a convenient, monthly payment plan that covers wellness care for every stage of your precious companions life, along with early diagnostic screening. Through the use of comprehensive, electronic medical records we will also carefully track the course of your pet's care, which is so important to your pet's long-term health.

Our veterinarians and veterinary staff are carefully selected, and trained to the highest standards; their experience, and knowledge of the latest veterinary medicines, treatments, and procedures, ensures that all of our patients get the best in prevention, treatment, and healing.

We invite you visit our bright, clean, comfortable, clinic, including our temperature controlled boarding facility, and meet our wonderful veterinarians and staff. When you do, you'll understand exactly why they are praised in the community for their kind, compassionate, and thorough care.

Our pets are very important family members. We look forward to providing you, and your pet, with the highest quality of care and attention. We are here to serve you Monday-Friday from 7:30am-6pm, and Saturday from 7:30am-1pm.

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) sets the standard for quality veterinary care for companion animals. As an accredited hospital, we voluntarily uphold the Association's high standards in 18 different areas and are routinely evaluated on over 900 different standards of veterinary care. Not all animal hospitals are accredited, and we are proud to be amongst only 12-15% of veterinary hospitals that hold this honor.
