Dr. Erin Allar is a Long Island native who ventured away from her home state and began her journey to becoming a veterinarian at Salisbury University in Maryland, where she studied Biology and Chemistry. After graduation, she flew down to St. George's University in Grenada where she spent four years studying veterinary medicine. 

During her time in school she was part of the Exotics and Wildlife Society, where she worked on sea turtle conservation with special emphasis on leatherback turtles. She was also a member of the Angels in Armor Foundation; there she provided medical help for abandoned animals and assisted in finding them a forever home. She completed her journey at University of Georgia where she discovered her passion for small animal surgery and dermatology. 

Now that Dr. Allar is back in her home state, she is excited to be working at Animal General! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her niece and nephews, going out on the boat with her family and snuggling her two dogs, Brooklyn and Murray.
