Dr. Wood was raised in the Chicago suburbs, and completed his undergraduate degree at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL., followed by earning his DVM at the University of Missouri. After veterinary school, Dr. Wood completed a small animal rotating internship at VCA Arboretum View, followed by a one-year specialty internship in Internal Medicine at Hope Advanced Veterinary Center in Vienna, VA. Following this internship, Dr. Wood returned to VCA Arboretum View in 2017 as a part of the emergency and critical care department.

Dr. Wood and his family share their home with their two cats, Kiwi and Box; dog, Jellybean; and a crested gecko named Yoshi. In his free time, he enjoys movies, running, and the outdoors.
