Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Andrea Tayrien is a lifelong lover of animals and always wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. A Texas native, Dr. Tayrien graduated from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX, in 1998 with her BS in Animal Biology. She then attended Midland College's Veterinary Technology Program and became a Registered Veterinary Technician. Dr. Tayrien worked at Texas A&M Medical Teaching Hospital in the Small Animal Clinic for 2 years before graduating from Texas A&M, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 with her doctorate.
Dr. Tayrien began working at VCA Deer Creek Animal Hospital in Crowley, TX, as an Associate Veterinarian from 2006-2018 and was Medical Director there from 2019-2022.
Dr. Tayrien recently moved to Virginia to be closer to family and has now joined our team at VCA Boulevard as an Associate Veterinarian. We are excited to have her here with us! Her special interests are client education, promotion of animal welfare and the human animal bond. She also enjoys training Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants to enable them to participate in client education and be the best they can be.
When not working, Dr. Tayrien enjoys reading, watching movies and working out at Orange Theory.
