We have been serving pet owners and their pets in Bergen and Rockland Counties since 1937. We are accredited with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and have been since 1975. As an AAHA-accredited facility, our animal hospital is voluntarily and rigorously inspected to ensure that our hospital provides clients with only the highest standards in medical care, record-keeping, and facility maintenance. At Closter Animal Hospital your pet's health is our utmost concern. Our hospital’s compassionate and expert medical team has years of experience in companion animal medicine, and they are dedicated to one thing, helping your pet to get well and stay healthy.

Animal Care & Control of New York City (AC&C) is one of the largest animal shelter-systems in the country, taking in more than 30,000 animals each year. As a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization since 1995, AC&C rescues, cares for and finds loving homes for homeless and abandoned animals in New York City. AC&C facilities operate in all five boroughs.

Closter Animal Welfare Society, Inc., (CLAWS) was founded 40 years ago as Lost Pet Service, Inc. CLAWS is not a shelter. We focus our time and efforts to rescue and foster abandoned or unwanted cats and dogs. With the help of a network of dedicated volunteers, we work to find the best permanent homes for these animals. CLAWS has no paid employees, receives no funds from the state, and exists solely on donations and money we make from fundraisers and adoption donations. CLAWS is licensed in the State of New Jersey as a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center is staffed 24 hours with veterinary health professionals who have been specially trained in veterinary toxicology. If you think that your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, call the ASPCA 24 hour emergency Animal Poison Control Center hotline at (888) 426-4435. A consultation fee is applied to your credit card.
