Our medical director, DVM Mark Loeschen, is originally from Iowa. He graduated from Kansas State University Veterinary School in 1987 and since has been practicing here in Phoenix.  Professionally his areas of interest are in dentistry and soft tissue surgery. He has a black cat named Ichabod, 2 grown children, Amy and Michael, and a new granddaughter, Tatum Elizabeth, who was born on July 15, 2018. When Dr. Loeschen is not practicing veterinary medicine, he enjoys riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and restoring old English automobiles. Jonathan was born in Gallup, NM. Started his veterinary career after graduating from Apollo College, He worked in emergency medicine for 4 years prior to joining VCA in 2006. Jonathan worked at VCA northern for 11 years before transitioning to being the hospital manager here at VCA Elliot Park. He is married to his wife Michele and they have 2 children Haley and Donavyn. Jonathan has 2 cats, bear and Bella, as well as 3 dogs, Freddy a Jack Russel, Jason a German shepherd, and Skully who is a Rottweiler.
