In addition, both indoor and outdoor pets can contract a variety of intestinal parasites year-round, including hookworm, roundworm, giardia and tapeworms. Finally, contrary to what you would expect, allergies are a year-round issue. Many pets suffer from skin and ear allergies, the signs of which include scratching, redness in the ears, and "scaly" or red skin.
