Dr. Laurie Tassano was born and raised in Marin County. She decided she wanted to become a veterinarian at a very young age after a vet came to speak to her 3rd grade class on Career Day. She started working at a small animal hospital when she was 14 years old and spent time volunteering for such local organizations as the Marin Humane Society, Guide Dogs for the Blind, and the Marine Mammal Center. Dr. Tassano did her undergraduate studies at U.C. Davis in Biological Sciences prior to entering their veterinary program. She graduated from the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 number one in her class and received the School Medal for Outstanding Academic and Clinical Performance. After graduation she returned to the Bay Area and joined the staff at Madera Pet Hospital. She currently resides in Marin with her husband and three children.
