Local Medical Issues
There are numerous local medical issues that can impact your pet's health and require your attention over the entire year. For example, there's heartworm, which can affect both cats and dogs. Since it's transmitted by mosquitoes, which thrive in our region, it's a serious cause for concern. And since the winter temperatures do not get cold enough here to kill mosquito eggs, it's a year-round risk.
Likewise for the potential for flea and tick infestation, or intestinal parasites, each of which poses a problem in any season.
And finally, contrary to what you'd expect, allergies are a year-round issue. Many pets suffer from skin and ear allergies, the signs of which include scratching, redness in the ears and scaly skin.
We harness the scale and strength of our global network while acknowledging each individual's contribution. We work locally to improve the lives of all who interact with our brand.

Companion Animal Parasite Council
The Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) is an independent council of veterinarians, veterinary parasitologists, and other animal health care professionals established to create guidelines for the optimal control of internal and external parasites that threaten the health of pets and people. CAPC was formed with the express purpose of changing the way veterinary professionals and pet owners approach parasite management and advocates best practices for protecting pets from parasitic infections and reducing the risk of zoonotic parasite transmission.
