Dr. Angie Kautzer was born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin and in Sterling Heights, Michigan. She attended Oakland University and Michigan State University for undergraduate work, then stayed at MSU to attend veterinary school (Go Green!). After graduation in 2006, she moved to Kalamazoo, MI, and began working in small animal practice at Kalamazoo Animal Hospital. She worked there for nearly 15 years before transitioning to laboratory animal medicine and working as a clinical veterinarian at Charles River Laboratories and then eventually Zoetis, before returning to small animal practice and joining the team here at VCA Oshtemo Animal Hospital.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband (Dr. Brett Veneklase), their family, their dog (Mia), and their two cats (Panda and Sushi). Brett and Angie are avid scuba divers and enjoy traveling the world in search of the next interesting dive site. Cycling is her sport of choice, and she frequently trains for and competes in bike races and also teaches indoor cycling classes at West Hills Athletic Club.
