We are very pleased to provide your companion with a safe, comfortable, and friendly place to call home while you’re away. A key advantage to having your pet stay with us is that we are a hospital with highly-skilled veterinarians and nursing staff ready to handle any emergency that may arise.
All of our guests are offered clean, comfortable bedding for their room. You are welcome to bring your own bedding from home as long as it is machine washable and can fit into our washer. You are encouraged to bring your pet's own diet from home. We ask if your pet is on a special diet or a prescription diet that you bring a sufficient amount for the length of your pet's stay. Our regular kennel diet, Veterinarian recommended Hill’s Science Diet Sensitive Stomach and Skin, will be provided as needed. Fresh water is always available for all our guests.
Medications: All of our clinical staff at Portage Animal Hospital are trained to administer medication to pets. All medications are required to be in its original bottle(s) with label instructions.
K-9 Boarding: Dogs are provided with individual indoor runs in a climate controlled environment. Your pet will be let out for restroom breaks and individual exercise 2 times per day in our fenced in play yard. Additional daycare or play time outside can be purchased.
Required Vaccinations: For the safety of your companion and the health of all our guests, the following vaccines are required:
Doggy Daycare: You can treat your K-9 friend to supervised socialization and playtime with other dogs. During daycare your dog will receive lots of hands-on attention such as: petting or brushing, playing fetch and tuggy, treats (if permitted) and lots of exercise to get all their extra energy out!
Kennel Baths: A kennel bath is a great way to refresh your pet. He/she will go home clean and smelling fabulous. We do require an end of stay bath for any dog staying three or more nights.
