Dr. Delicia Lakhan originally from Trinidad and Tobago.She graduated from Barry University with a Bachelors in Biology in 2000. In 2006 she earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She is also a USDA accredited veterinarian.

Dr. Lakhan is particularly interested in preventative medicine, internal medicine and client education. She believes that an informed pet owner is essential in ensuring that our patients get the care they need.

Her cat, Lily, (a rescue cat from hurricane Katrina) keeps her happy at home by sitting in her lap and she never misses a meal. Her two beautiful baby boys, Zachary and Joseph, are the light of her life. Dr. Lakhan loves what she does and provides great care and compassion to our clients and patients.

From early childhood, I have always had a special love for animals. I felt drawn to take care of them. Choosing veterinary medicine was a natural progression for me. It just always felt right for me.
