Dr. Thomas is originally from Myersville, Maryland. Becoming a veterinarian has been her dream since she started riding horses at age six. Watching, and then assisting the local veterinarian throughout childhood, further inspired her to go to veterinary school and make helping animals her profession.

Dr. Thomas received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph before graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2007. She completed a one-year internship in Christchurch, New Zealand following graduation. She then spent several years working as small animal veterinarian in Jacksonville, FL, where her husband was stationed as a U.S. Navy Pilot, before returning to Maryland. Dr. Thomas also worked in Severna Park, Maryland before taking time off for the birth of her first child. Upon her return from maternity leave, Dr. Thomas was delighted to join the team at VCA South Arundel Animal Hospital.

Dr. Thomas’ professional interests include internal medicine, dermatology, surgery and theriogenology. She truly enjoys getting to know each patient and owner on an individual level and considers it a privilege to meet and care for your four-legged family members. Whether it is a new puppy, a rescued kitty or aging companion, she strives to tailor her medical and surgical recommendations to meet their specific needs.

Dr. Thomas shares her life with her husband, Michael and son, Harrison, and their “Queen” Shiba Inu, “Roxy,” and two playful cats. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Thomas enjoys skiing, the outdoors, traveling and spending time with her family.
