Dr. Tomas graduated from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She then completed a small animal rotating internship at the National Veterinary School of Nantes in France, followed by a second small animal rotating internship at North Carolina State University. From 2012 to 2013, Dr. Tomas was a Research Scholar in the Comparative Pain Research Laboratory at North Carolina State University, after which she stayed on to complete a residency in small animal surgery. Dr. Tomas then went on to become board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and complete the Canine Rehabilitation Certificate Program (C.C.R.P.).
Upon finishing her residency, Dr. Tomas served as a Clinical Veterinarian in Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at the North Carolina State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She then joined the VCA South Shore staff from 2019-2022, stepping away for a short time to gain other experience, before rejoining the VCA South Shore team as part of the Surgery and Rehabilitation services in 2024.
Dr. Tomas is accomplished in all areas of small animal surgery, and has a special interest in orthopedic surgery, arthroscopy, minimally invasive surgery, interventional radiology and rehabilitation.
