Hi, I'm Dr. Helen and I was born and raised in Chetek, WI. At the ripe old age of 5 years, I told my Mom that I wanted to be a veterinarian. 21 years later, I achieved that goal, graduating from UW-Madison as a DVM in June of 1997. 26 days later, I was lucky enough to start working at what is now VCA Spooner Veterinary Hospital. I have been here ever since.
I do enjoy most aspects of our small animal practice, but I particularly like working with dermatology cases. I love engaging the staff and pet owners to learn about the various diseases, tests, and treatment we work with. I believe knowledge is power and will...
I started working at Spooner Veterinary Hospital in September of 2001. I began my career here as a kennel attendant and veterinary assistant. I am so thankful every day to be happy to come to my job, and work with the amazing people that I do. We have such a great team!
My family and I enjoy our dog, Smokey, cats, Screechie and Junie, bearded dragon, Mario, and our turtle, Marcy.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, camping, hiking, and being outdoors.
