Hello. I am Dr. Dolores Gutierrez DeHerrera. I have been practicing here in the North Valley for over 15 years, starting at VCA Adobe Animal Hospital in 2004. When VCA Adobe was merged with VCA Town and Country in 2013, I joined the team.
I am a New Mexico native, born and raised in Springer, NM. Upon graduating from Springer High School, I attended the University of New Mexico for 3 years before being accepted to Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, I returned to Albuquerque and began my career in small animal practice, focusing on canine and feline patients with the occasional bird and pocket pet. Over the years of general medical practice, I have developed special interests in veterinary dentistry, endocrinology, and soft tissue surgery. I especially enjoy teaching new information and techniques to staff and clients.
When away from the hospital, I like to bake, read, and embroider, my favorite needlework being counted cross stitch. I especially enjoy spending time with my husband, Ted, my stepson Robert, and my furry creatures, Dexter the dog, and Mike and Luke, the two mischievous cats.
