Dr. Heather Caughey joined VCA Westbury in early 2021. She grew up in the Northeast, and graduated from a small engineering school, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, with a Bachelor's of Science in Biotechnology and Chemistry.  After some time in medical device and pharmaceutical research, she made the leap to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue her DVM, and completed her clinical training at Purdue University of Veterinary Medicine.

After getting a taste for tropical weather living in St. Kitts, she and her family decided to move south when their blood thinned too much for New England winters. Dr. Caughey has a strong interest in surgery and providing stress-free veterinary care. She also enjoys seeing a broad range of species in practice, just no birds!

When outside the office, Dr. Caughey is in full-fledged "soccer mom" mode with her son Ryan and her husband who is also a Veterinarian. She enjoys all sports (particularly soccer and American football) and loves to travel anywhere she can scuba dive. She's also "mom" to her loving crazy dog, Brisket.
