Dr. Mariah Aerts grew up on a family farm outside of Brainard, Nebraska, where she developed her love for animals. She then joined the VCA Cherokee team in the summer of 2019 as a veterinary assistant. She then continued to work at Cherokee while attending Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine completing a bachelor's degree in Biology in 2019 an a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2024.
Dr. Aerts has a passion for dermatology, ophthalmology, and healthy weight management for her patients. One of her favorite parts of veterinary medicine is forming relationships with clients and their pets, providing the best care possible.
Dr. Aerts currently lives with her pit bull, Charlie (the cutest dog ever), and feline companion, Stella. In her spare time, Dr. Aerts enjoys a good cup of coffee, watching Nebraska volleyball, reading, running, and spending time with her family and friends.
