VCA North Idaho began in a small house on Fourth Avenue and Church Street in downtown Sandpoint, Idaho. As our community grew, so did we. Under the leadership of our founding practice owners, Dr. Robert Pierce and Dr. Dawn Mehra, we expanded to a larger facility in Sandpoint, allowing us to better serve the region we've called home for over 25 years. Throughout this time, we’ve remained dedicated to helping pets live long, healthy, and happy lives.

At VCA North Idaho Animal Hospital, we proudly serve the greater Idaho Panhandle region, Northwest Montana, and Pend Oreille County, Washington, as a full-service veterinary facility. We offer comprehensive primary care alongside advanced medical services and diagnostics. Our team of veterinarians brings diverse expertise in areas such as TPLO surgeries, hormone-sparing surgery options, behavior medicine, advanced ultrasound imaging, and exotic pet care. Seeking a second opinion? We also accept referrals for consultations with our board-certified internist.
In addition to preventative care like vaccines, spays, and neuters, we provide a walk-in Urgent Care clinic during all open hours—no appointment needed.
