Dr. Alex A. Duran is a native to our beautiful city of Chicago. He grew up in the Ravenswood neighborhood and regularly frequented our city's parks, museums, and zoos. Dr. Duran attended Chicago Public Schools and graduated from Lane Technical High School. He continued his education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received both his Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Prior to his career in veterinary medicine, Dr. Duran spent time working and volunteering at the Lincoln Park Zoo and at his local veterinary hospitals. These experiences allowed him to develop his passion of helping to keep pets healthy. Dr. Duran traveled to the Caribbean island of Grenada, West Indies, where he spent approximately two years of his initial veterinary studies at St. George's University. He has now been working as a veterinarian for several years within the Chicagoland community.
Dr. Duran is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, and the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Duran is fluent in Spanish and enjoys being capable of building a bridge for his non-English speaking clientele.
When not at work helping our beloved patients, Dr. Duran enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, traveling, and is an avid fan of video gaming.
